I noted a chalkboard drawing with the saying, “Bloom Where You are Planted” on it, so that’s today’s blog topic. The colorful drawing is posted in my local garden center near the plant help desk. Their drawing shows the sun, flowers, a bird and birdhouse and even a rainbow. All in all, it’s such a happy sign.
To me, “bloom where you are planted” means anyone can make their life better. People make all sorts of choices in life. Always, take advance of what life gives you. For example, use lemons to make lemonade. Even if you are “transplanted” and off to a rough start, try to flower and bloom in that location. Nothing is ever, ever going to be 100% perfect.
Think about buying and planting a simple plant. When you get it home, it needs to be taken out of the crock and transplanted. You might not have the best location. It could be too shady, too wet, too sandy or too sunny, but the plant manages to grow. At some point, it might even flower and produce fruit.

Improving your Life Situation
There are so many different ways to improve your life. So, please, just don’t sit around and do nothing about it. I’m only offering a few suggestions on the topic for now.
Careers or Jobs – Make sure you do a day’s work for a day’s pay. If it is not the job you want to do then, try to get additional training or education so you can do something else. Also, talk to people in the field you wish to enter for ideas.
Relationships – If you are new in town, you can always join groups and meet with others with similar interests. Volunteering is a great way to make friends, to meet other people and help the community.
Follow Your Dreams – Dream a little, or a lot, in life. Think about what you want to accomplish in your lifetime and make a plan.
