Baby Back Pork Ribs

Sometimes you want the taste of BBQ ribs without the fuss of getting out the grill and then standing an hour turning ribs.

On those days, I cook my baby back ribs in the oven, easy-peasy. It takes very little time to get them into the oven. Check out the below recipe for Oven Baked Baby Back Pork Ribs. They always come out moist and tender tasting when they are baked in a lower temperature oven for a longer time.

I also tossed yellow potatoes in the oven to go with the ribs.

Ingredients for Oven Baked Baby Back Pork Ribs

  • 5 Pound Rack of Baby Back Pork Ribs
  • 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce
  • Sprinkling of Black Pepper
  • Fresh Thyme
  • Sprinkling of Dried Parsley
  • Sprinkling of Onion Salt
  • Bottled BBQ Sauce

Directions:

  1. Prepare pan by spraying nonstick spray on to bottom and sides of pan.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  3. If the rack of ribs is too long for your pan, cut them in half.
  4. Place pork ribs in the pan with the fatty side up. Pour olive oil over ribs with soy sauce. Add pepper, dried parsley, and onion salt. Use your fingers to rub spices in. Toss some fresh thyme over the ribs prior to baking.
  5. Bake for approximately 2 hours. During the last 15 minutes of baking, brush your favorite BBQ sauce over the ribs.

Place the potatoes in the oven during the last hour of baking.

Be sure to butter the potato skins. Pierce each potato a couple of times with the tines of a fork before placing them in the oven.

When ready to eat, slice ribs into serving sizes and serve with yellow potatoes and a side salad.

I love these ribs so much, I made another batch. In the below photograph I am serving oven baked ribs with a small side salad.

Easy BBQ Taste

Don’t forget to add your fresh thyme. Fresh herbs add a nice flavor to the meat.

I keep a pot of fresh rosemary, thyme, and chives on my patio for my kitchen use.
