Almost Autumn

Looks like it is almost autumn here at Farmhouse Magic Blog.

That means, the days are cooling down a bit. The plants in patio crocks are looking a bit exhausted. The once green lawn has patches of dry grass here and there. Of course, we are also seeing those back to school sales in the papers.

I love pumpkins, spices, and a time to rest after a summer of intense gardening.

What’s in Bloom Right Now?

The summer’s sunny days will be ending soon, but that doesn’t mean the flowers stop blooming.

The below list shows some of the plants, bushes, and trees currently in bloom.

  • Alliums
  • Butterfly Bush
  • Crape Myrtles
  • Echinacea
  • Hydrangeas, Macrophylla
  • Kale
  • Petunias
  • Spirea

Almost Autumn Themed Door Mat

This fall display is at a local gardening store. As I came in the store’s front doors, I immediately saw this large coir door mat with its hand painted pumpkins. The mat is fresh and natural looking.

This mat is attractively arranged around faux pumpkins and real pine cones but think how great that would look near a front door.

Almost Autumn Themed Merchandise

The almost autumn merchandise includes a variety of faux pumpkins, salt and pepper shakers shaped like pumpkins, citronella candles, candlestick holders, pumpkins patterned table runners and those cute small bowls with brown birds.

In anticipation of autumn, this display contains many things to spruce up dinning rooms, kitchens, and living areas.

Now I wish I would have purchased one of those cute mini bowls with the brown birds.

Ending Notes on Almost Autumn Blog

So, now is the time to start thinking about the changing season ahead. I usually first notice the maple trees losing leaves. It happens ever so slowly. At some point I’ll look out my window and the Japanese Maple tree’s leaves will be bright red, orange, and yellow. The burning bush turns bright red.

And, the garden soon begins its seasonal change.

Thank you to Merrifield Garden Center for allowing me to blog and to take photographs in their store.
