Clean Up After the Holidays
It’s that time again to put away all the holiday items for another year.
This is probably something you don’t think much about but after several seasons, your tree skirt might be a little dusty and in need of a washing.
My tree skirt is probably over ten years old now and was a little grimy looking. I carefully hand washed it in cold water and line dried it. When dry, I ironed it with a cool iron. If your tree skirt was purchased in a store, be sure to check for a washing instruction label.
The tree skirt is now very clean and ready for storage.
Ironing the Christmas Bandanna Christmas BandannaThe above photographs are of a Christmas-themed bandanna I bought this season from the church resale shop.
It was priced at one dollar. I liked the festive holiday drummer boy imprinted on it. It was made in the USA.
After wearing it, I hand washed and ironed it to be placed away for another year.
Recycled Bag, Ironing the Ribbon Handle Recycled Gift Bag with Ironed Ribbon HandlesHere I am recycling a gift bag by ironing the wrinkled ribbon handles.
It looks like new!
Ready to be stored and used next year.
Labeled Large Plastic Storage BinI favor large plastic storage bins for my holiday decorations. This one has a label on top so you never need to open it to find out what is inside.
The clear plastic storage bins are also useful.
It’s a little sad to take down all the festive holiday decorations, but we always have spring to look forward to. Roll on spring!
Christmas Towels from GrandmaThese Christmas wreath decorated towels were given to me as a gift several years ago.
Although the person is no longer with us, I take them out either Christmas eve or Christmas and use them as a nice remembrance of that person.
After the holiday, I wash them and carefully put them away until next year.
