Happy Thanksgiving to all my Farmhouse Magic Blog Readers!
With the cornavirus raging in many of our states, previous black lives matter rallies and now the challenging presidential election, we have seen a lot this year.
However, we are all thankful still for our many blessings–our friends, neighbors, and our family. Our continued good health and being able to do our jobs at home.
Thanksgiving TurkeyToday for my Thanksgiving day meal I served a large, almost 20 pound, turkey with nice crispy skin, golden mashed potatoes, stuffing with diced dried cranberries, fresh broccoli, bacon topped deviled eggs, and a relish tray.
For dessert we had a a choice of homemade pumpkin pie with leaf cut outs or a pumpkin walnut dessert roll with coffee.
This is actually the first pumpkin pie I ever made.
I covered the table with a green print tablecloth and used green checked place mats. The table runner was a tan color with tassels on both ends.
This is the dessert station consisting of pumpkin pie and pumpkin walnut dessert rolls.
I elevated the pie with a rattan cake stand. The serving dishes were sprinkled with a generous amount of candy corn.
I took out one of my large glass pumpkins I found last year in a second hand store and placed it on the table.
Pumpkin Desserts Bacon Topped Deviled Eggs and a Relish Dish Close Up of Pumpkin Pie Cut OutsI previously made the pumpkin walnut dessert rolls, (see blog recipe), and froze them.
This morning I got up and made the stuffing with a boxed mix. I added chopping dry sweetened cranberries, chopped onion and celery.
I also peeled, cooked, and mashed the golden potatoes with a little butter and cream.
The deviled eggs had a strip of crispy bacon cut up and added. They were garnished with dried parsley, dill, black pepper, and a strip of crispy bacon.
