Harpers Ferry Shop
We took a road trip to visit Harpers Ferry which is a small town in West Virginia.
We passed multiple country vineyards on the way there and it was a nice day for a drive.
This photograph show a nicely decorated shop in the town.
I liked the pineapple and apple decoration above this front door and the fresh holiday wreath.
The door, also, was flanked by two decorated planters also filled with fresh greenery.

Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers Meet
The Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers meet in Harpers Ferry.
The town has a lot of history to it including John Brown’s Fort which was the site of a 1859 abolitionist raid.
There are also several buildings which were recreated from the past.
The visitors can go in and look around at various shops.
The main issue I found in visiting Harpers Ferry, is the lack of available parking spaces in the town.
If you wanted to park directly in the town near the train station, the cost was an expensive $15.00. There were, also, lots of notices about cars being ticketed and towed.
We ended up parking in a one hour spot and didn’t stay for lunch since none of the restaurants we saw had any parking areas.
To park on the street, it looks like you need to add an APP to your phone. However, I don’t recall seeing an empty parking spot.
I believe they also have parking at a national park site, and you can take a shuttle bus into the town.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to visit any additional museums.
Tall Trees Near the River
In summing up, we had a short trip to Harpers Ferry but I enjoyed the town.
The people were friendly and if you like American history, this is a good place to visit.
