OK, our smart new homeowner saw a couple of Trash Day Stools in the garbage, stopped his car, and took them home. His first impression was to make a little extra money and sell them online. But after looking the stools over, he decided to keep them instead for his new place.
Although he does not have a breakfast bar, he does need extra seating so these two stools will come in handy.
The two black stools are in good shape with no rips in the seating. They both swivel around although one stool does not move smoothly.
I looked online to see what these chairs are priced at. I found similar wooden stools online with the same coffee cup design. However, they were not exact as pictured online. But the ones online were priced at about $100 each.

In conclusion, these two black stools are great, but they need a little bit of tender loving care to correct a few minor flaws.
The first thing I did was to wipe the dust and dirt off the stools. I, also, sprayed the mechanical workings under each stool seat with a multi-purpose lubrication spray. This allowed both seats to now move freely. I like the cans with the small red straw attached. That way you can spray the exact area without extra spray coating other places.
Chair Leg Floor Protectors
Then, I noted, the two stools are lacking new chair leg floor protector pads. There are a variety to select from on the market. However, I purchased eight made out of stretchy material maybe silicone. They were easy to slip on the bottom of the legs and are snug, plus they stay on. It reminds me of putting a sock on a foot.

Since I never before used this particular chair leg protector cap, I am curious to see how long they last with average wear and tear.
Ending Notes on Trash Day Stools
I love the new “coffee cup” stools. They are placed at the ends of the dining room table.
They seem to fit like they were made for the area. I’ll have to get a photograph the next time I am there.
I love the fact that these perfectly useable stools were saved from the ever-growing trash dump and made useful once again. All it took was a few simple repairs.
