Crown of Thorns Plant

Crown of Thorns

I was out shopping for a new bathroom sink cabinet when I noted this Crown of Thorns plant in the entrance way to a design center. OK, this large plant in bloom was fascinating in many ways.

First of all, the plant has many pink blooming flowers. The unique plant’s long spiked stems twist and turn in many different directions. However, in my opinion, this just adds to the beauty of the plant.

More Information

The Crown of Thorns plant is also known by the name of Euphorbia Emili. The plant originates from Madagascar. It is a resilient succulent known for its many blooms, thorny stems, and low maintenance.

According to my online research, the plant has colorful, but small blooms. It grows about 3 to 6 feet outdoors or about 2 feet indoors. The plant should be watered when the soil feels dry about an inch below the surface. The Crown of Thorns likes full sunlight requiring at least three to four hours of full sunlight.
