Military Appreciation

Yesterday we attended a Military Appreciation Day hosted by a Chick-fil-A restaurant in the Chantilly area.

As we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by Tommy at the podium. He took our order and gave us a ticket for two free military meals.

There was a red carpet rolled out with red ropes, so we felt like very important VIP’s.

OK, Tommy was, also, in charge of giving out the free toy plastic military men in action. Yes, I asked for one to put on my kitchen windowsill. Tommy was super nice and gave me a choice of figures. He even gave me a choice of colors.

At first, I didn’t notice the red carpet until my companion pointed it out. But, we both felt this was a nice touch.

We even had a special surprise visit from the “Eat More Chicken” Cow as she visited the tables with the military families.

How was the Chicken Sandwich?

The chicken sandwich was great as always. The employees always go to great lengths to be sure we had what we needed. Someone even picked up our tray when we were done with our meal.

Yes, the meal was hot and tasty.

Military Appreciation – Where in the World did you Serve?

There was a large world map on the wall where visitors could mark where they served or a family member served. My companion marked South Korea.

Thinking about it, I should have marked Vietnam for dad. And, also, off the coast of Cuba during the Cubian Missile Crisis, (yes, you were on a ship ready to go in if needed). Plus, at 29 Palms, a desert base in California.

Ending Notes for Chick-fil-A Military Appreciation Day.

A big thank you to Chick-fil-A for remembering our servicemen and women. Also, thank you for the free sandwich meals.

I love the way you decorated the restaurant with the red, white and blue bunches of ballons and the “Thank You for Your Service” Banner.

Lastly, a big Thank You to all the Servicemen and women out there. Thank you for keeping us safe.

I love the patriotic red, white and blue balloons!
