National Croissant Day

National Croissant Day

I wanted to let my Readers know what I did yesterday on National Croissant Day. Of course, Farmhouse Magic Blog is going to celebrate that right?

So, I got together with my companion and we dashed over to Paris Baguette, a local bakery, who had a free offer of a croissant with a purchase. We had coffee, a twist donut and, of course, that free croissant. However, to get that free croissant, you need to be a member of the PB Rewards loyalty program.

We actually took the last croissant off the tray but, I guess, they probably had more in back.

Wow, it looks like Burger King also had a one cent breakfast croissant deal for those belonging to their Royal Perks Loyalty program. Also, required was a $1 or more purchase. Oh boy, I never knew Burger King had a Royal Perks program.

Lastly, La Madeleine gave away a free croissant with any app or online order.

So, lots of ways to get your hands on a croissant.

More About National Croissant Day

National Croissant Day falls every year on January 30th. To celebrate National Croissant Day you can go out and purchase a croissant. Then you can come home and make a sandwich, soup or salad to go with it. Or have it with your morning coffee as we did.

The buttery croissant is often associated with France. My online research states it was invented in Vienna. Folklore has it was created in 1683 to celebrate the Austrian’s army victory over the Turks. The pastry’s shape is said to represent the symbol on the Ottoman flag. That flag is red with a crescent moon and star shape on it.

Ending Notes on National Croissant Day

Enjoyed both my free croissant and the conversation with my companion. Yes, I plan on celebration National Croissant Day again next year.

But, my only wish is can have two days to celebrate National Croissant Day?
