Burning Bush – Invasive Plant Species
This photograph shows a Burning Bush or Euonymus Alatus Siebald plant. This plant was brought to this country from Asia in the 1860’s to be used as an ornamental shrub.
Even though it has lovely bright red leaves in the fall, it is considered an invasive plant species in my area of the county. The birds apparently eat the seeds and spread the plant to other areas of the woods.
I’ve never had any seeds grow from my plant, but I would never plant another one in my yard.
Lovely but apparently unwanted.
