Vintage Aluminum Baskets
I found these two vintage aluminum baskets on the same day at a second hand store. Perhaps they were part of someone’s collection?
Anyway, they look nice when I entertain. I might put candy canes or other candy in them and place them on the buffet table.
One basket has a tomato, leaves and flower design around the center. It has a twisted handle. The second one has a chrysanthemums design pressed into the metal. The chrysanthemum basket’s handle will fold down for easy storage.
Both pieces were added to my vintage aluminum collection.
However, there are no manufacture’s markings on either back side.
Vintage Aluminum Baskets
The pictured two baskets on the left, were a great addition to my vintage aluminum collection. I like them both but probably use the basket/tray with the twisted handle more than the other one.
During the 1950’s a popular wedding gift was either an aluminum tray or some other aluminum piece.
Some of the better pieces of aluminum were actually hand hammered.
