OK, we decided to check out a few things around town to honor local veterans on Veteran’s Day 2025.
Local Freebies for Veteran’s Day 2025
Wow, there were a lot of businesses offering different things to veterans today. Paris Baguette offered a free pastry. Then it was a free coffee for veterans in our local Wawa. At Texas Roadhouse, the veteran could either pick up a free lunch coupon or dine free inside without a coupon. We opted to meet friends and to dine inside.
Reception for Vets
Earlier in the month, we attended a special service for veterans with a reception afterwards.
Of course, the event hall was decorated with US flags, and a red, white and blue color scheme. There was coffee, donuts, slices of cake, bagels with assorted cream cheese, and a couple of fruit dishes.
Then a group of children got up to sing a special song to thank the veterans.

The tables were decorated with cards written by children thanking the veterans for keeping us safe and for their service.
I asked if I could take a few cards home to our neighbor who is also a veteran, and they said that was OK.
I love the one card which a student had drawn a picture of a military man in a green uniform. Great drawing and it made me smile!!!
Ending Notes on Today’s Blog
So, I guess what I really want to say is to thank everyone for going that extra mile to thank our veterans.
So, here it goes for Farmhouse Magic Blog,
Thank You Veterans for a Job Well Done and for Your Service to our Country!
Today’s Veteran’s Day 2025 Blog is dedicated to Roxann Berkley’s bother who died in the battle for Hamburger Hill in Vietnam. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.
