Well, for coffee break today we headed to one of our favorite coffee shops and bakery and we noticed some Valentine Sweets. Since February is the month of Valentine’s Day, a few new treats are noted.
Let’s see what is new.
Pink Velvet Chocolate Ganache Cake
The Pink Velvet Chocolate Ganache Cake is actually a new offering, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
So, let’s see, it is three layers of chocolate sponge cake filled with a whipped chocolate ganache and pink velvet cream. It is topped with a pink heart.

I like the way this cake is wrapped in a clear plastic ring. That way, no crushing mishaps on the way home with the cake.
Conversation Hearts in Valentine Sweets Blog
Really, I love these cute conversation Heart Macarons. They are filled with a light custard cream and fresh raspberries.

However, that got me to thinking about conversation heart candy that is available around Valentine’s Day.
According to online research, a Boston pharmacist back in 1847 invented a machine to press lozenges. However, then they began to make candy with the machine. In 1866 they used a felt roller to print messages on the candy. Back then, the candy was actually made larger and, thus, longer messages could be printed on the candy. Lastly, in 1901, the manufacturers began to use the iconic heart shape.
It seems that the messages have also changed with the times so you will now see “Text Me”, “LOL”, “No Way,” etc.
One Valentine’s Day game is the string a bunch of candy hearts together to get a long message.
For me, I love the candy hearts with a message of true love or whatever. Looks like the above Conversation Heart Macron is playing it safe with a “Love You” message. Surely, that covers all bases on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine Sweets & Pink Velvet and Choux Cream Cake
The Pink Velvet & Choux Cream Cake is also a new offering. This cake is actually six layers of vanilla sponge cake. The center contains pink velvet soft cream and custard cream. Valentine themed sprinkles decorate the cake’s top.
I love checking out the new bakery offerings.

Ending Notes on Valentine Sweets Blog
No, it is definitely not too early about thinking about Valentine’s Day and how to celebrate with the one you love.
After seeing all these yummy looking offerings, it makes me hungry for dessert.
However, I’m sure my significant other is planning another big, over the top Valentine’s Day for me. Or at least I hope he is. Where is that LOL Conversation Heart?

NOTE: For those having trouble making up their mind, there is always Chocolate Cake.
A Big Thank You to Paris Baguette for allowing me to blog and photograph items in their shop. The bakery items featured on today’s blog are available at your local Paris Baguette cafe and bakery.
