Trip to Tysons Corner

This weekend we drove through Tysons also know as Tysons Corner.  It is a very busy area with a lot of traffic.

If you are a shopper there are actually two large malls here which offer luxury goods.  There is also a Silver Line Metro that stops near the malls.

Tysons is the area’s central business district with quite a bit of office space.

In Tysons Corner, an average studio apartment rental is priced at $1,734. per month.

Ongoing Construction

There is always construction and road working going on in Tysons.

If you work in Tyson, I think, it would be difficult to go out to lunch due to the traffic congestion.

It was impossible to get very many photographs of Tysons while in the car since we were traveling at a good speed with a lot of quick stops and starts.

This building located in Tysons is a luxurious sports car dealership.  The cars they offer have been described as “automotive art forms” with high price tags.

FMB’s technical video director knows all about these opulent cars but it’s also great to have big dreams.

I checked out the 2020 prices of these vehicles and found they run from about $152,995. to $304,995 and higher.  Not sure if that price includes a trade-in or not.

I rarely go to Tysons but it has has been described as an edge city.

If you love the excitement and the go-go action of urban life, then Tysons Corner is the place for you.

What is an Edge City?

Originating in the United States, the term edge city refers a large urban area on the outskirts of a city usually beside a major road.  An edge city was previously a site of suburban residential development or a rural area.  The term “edge city” was coined from the 1991 book, “Edge City:  Life on the New Frontier”.
