The Wedding Gift blog is how a rare photograph is enlarged, mounted in a frame and then wrapped up for a wonderful gift.
Thinking I wanted a one-of-a-kind wedding gift for a special person, I went through some recently taken photos on my phone. Humm, I found one which was unusual and would look nice in a frame. The first step was getting it enlarged to a 5 x 7-inch size glossy print and then picking it up at the drug store’s photo mart. OK, it turned out quite nice, so I then went shopping for the frame and the wrapping paper.
Craft Store Shopping Trip
It actually took me two trips to the craft store to get a photo frame. The first time I went, the frame had a small scratch on it. It was hidden under the black edge corner tabs, so I didn’t see it. The second frame I purchased was free of marks or scratches. I went with a black frame, white mat and a 5 x 7-inch opening. It had tabs on the back and could be hung either horizontally or vertically.
Framing Warranty
Interestingly enough, the craft store now sells a framing warranty. I’ve never heard of that before but, of course, I guess if you spend hundreds of dollars on a custom frame you might be interested in the plan. I opted not to pay extra for the coverage.
Framing of the Wedding Gift
As soon as I came home, I put out all the items I purchased on the dining room table. I carefully removed the protective black corners on my frame and lifted out the backing. Then I used a spoon to move some of the tabs over so the backing would easily come out. I wiped the inside of the frame with a clean cloth making sure there was no dust or finger prints. Scotch tape was used to mount the photograph over the opening of the mat. I had to adjust it some as a portion of the photo, got cut off. But, in the end, it looked perfect.
I worked on a dining room table to keep the photo and frame flat. In the end, It was easier to work that way.
Wrapping the Wedding Gift
I was not able to find exactly what I was looking for as far as wedding wrapping paper goes. This is a little strange since we are in the middle of prime wedding summer days.
In the craft store, I purchased silver toned wrapping paper with white hearts, silver ribbon and silver curls which I purchased to paste on the gift.
Ending Notes on the Wedding Gift
In conclusion, the wedding gift is nicely wrapped with ribbons and curly bows. I can hardly wait to drop it off and I’ll tell her not to open it until after their wedding.
Hopefully, they will both love it.
Anyway, I love young love when things are fresh and new. It’s exciting to take that step into adulthood and begin the rest of your life.
To all couples marrying this summer, have a wonderful wedding day and honeymoon!
The silver curly bows have a bit of sparkle to them. So, the wedding card has a gray tone to the envelope.
