The Mall Trip

The Mall Trip

The Mall Trip blog is basically the tale of my trip to the mall. Why is this special you ask? Because I usually shop online and rarely get up to the local mall. Of course, I’m probably not the average person.

I’m really not a shopper at heart and I avoid crowds as much as possible. It seems I never can get any shopping done when a store is busy. Too many people are in the way of what I want to look at and I get too distracted.

At one time in my life, I drove to the mall weekly to pick up the sales and other bargains in Kmart, one of the anchor stores. My mom would generally go with me to shop, and we had a great time. Usually, the mall was full of shoppers.

What did I buy on my Trip to the Mall?

When thinking about things, it has probably been a year or two since I shopped at the mall. So, one day when online shopping I noticed a sale on faux white poinsettias in terra cotta pots which I really wanted.

In thinking ahead for new Christmas decorations, I could place these two white poinsettias on my fireplace mantel or elsewhere. Yes, an early start to the holiday decorating is a great thing.

They were marked down from $44.50 to only $10.97 each. However, to get that price, they could not be shipped and needed to be picked up at the local mall store. So, off we went to the mall.

Shopping at the Mall

So, what’s new at the mall you might ask. First of all, I went to the mall in the evening about an hour before closing time. To me, it seems like there were few shoppers at that time. A couple of the stores closed early and had the store gates already down. There were also some vacant storefronts at the mall. I, also, noted going out of business signs at one store.

There were two shoppers in the store when I picked up my order. The sales associates were nice and helpful. My items were nicely bagged and ready to go.

Ending Notes the Mall Trip Blog

I was glad to pick up my prepaid purchase of faux poinsettias and thought about how online sales are easy, quick and convenient.

It is a bit of an effort to get dressed, comb my hair, put on lipstick and go shopping. Note – I guess I could save time and “come as you are”. That would probably work better if I was going to a “come as you are” Halloween party–a little scary for all.

Thinking about malls I believe shoppers’ habits have changed over the years. That’s so true of so many things. Nothing stays the same forever.
