Taco Zocalo is our destination for lunch today.
It is located in Reston right down from the Silver Line Metro Station, but you have to know where to look for it as the location is a bit out of the way.
Taco Zocalo is a small restaurant but the place is full of people getting their the taco lunches. We ordered our meals and was fortunate to get one of the two outdoor tables to eat at.
In case you are wondering, Zocalo translation means the main square in a Mexican city or town much like a plaza.
The tacos come with double crispy corn shells.
Taco Zocalo Meals
We went with the two and three corn tortilla tacos plus we shared an order of rice and beans. We also had a couple of sodas to drink.
The taco were plated with double corn tortilla shells. Each taco contains thinly-sliced lettuce, purple cabbage, cheese, sour cream, and yellow peppers with your choice of meal fillings.
My meal was delicious and very fresh tasting. I read the online reviews and most people give them great reviews. On Taco Zocalo’s website it states the food is honest food.
Also, on the menu is corn on the cob, corn or flour tortilla shells tacos, burritos, salads and chips. Taco Zocalo also does catering.
Relaxing on the Patio
It is nice to sit outside on a sunny day and eat our taco meals. Next to us was a group of bicycle riders out for a drive and apparently stopped here for lunch.
Our lunch break was relaxing and pleasant.
However, this is not your average taco place and moderately priced.
The welcoming entry to Taco Zocalo has a flower wreath on the wall and a vase of flowers. The Taco Zocalo sign sits on a shelf.
