I enjoy cooking, but have never been part of a Supper Club so I’m a little curious about what this is all about.
I asked a special person if she could share a little information about her Supper Club and share some photographs.
Details of the Supper Club
Her Supper Club consists of several good friends who love to get together to enjoy each other’s company and dine on special meals. Members of the Supper Club take turns hosting the dinner usually going all out to make each meal a delicious and memorable occasion.
The meal usually has a special theme and tonight’s theme is “Perfect Close of Summer Dishes”.
After texting this special person, she mentions shopping for produce for the meal.
Each Supper Club meal consists of soup through dessert courses plus beverages.
Table Setting
Since it is a lovely day, the table in the gazebo area of her backyard is set up so everyone could enjoy the day.
A green and white patterned dish set is used along with a green/gray place mat. Glasses on the table are both for ice water and wine. A simple green centerpiece picks up the green in the dish pattern and also the green in the lawn. White candles on the table are lite when the guests arrive.
Summer Strawberry Cocktails
On the drink menu are Summer Strawberry Cocktails.
To make Summer Strawberry Cocktails, frozen strawberries are blended until smooth. After that, a dash of fresh lemon juice is added to perk up the flavor. A little strawberry puree is poured in each cocktail glass. Then, chilled Prosecco sparkling white wine fills the glasses to the top. Use fresh strawberries and lemon slices to garnish the drinks.
Gifts for the Guests
Unbreakable clear wine glasses are guest gifts. The unbreakable glasses are great to use around patio or pool enclosures where broken glass could cause a accident.
Each guest gift sets come with four clear wine glasses.
All in all, the Supper Club dinner went well and everyone had a great time. The guests enjoyed their special party gifts and it was a perfect ending to the last days of summer.
Ending Notes on the Supper Club Blog
This Supper Club reminds me a bit of a Progressive Dinner Club a friend told me about.
Every member of a Progressive Dinner Club is responsible for only one part of the dinner. For example, one person makes the salad, someone else the main dish, and finally the last member serves the dessert and coffee.
The club members then eat one part of meal at a particular house, and walk to the next house for the next part of the meal. In all, it takes about four hours to complete the meal.
Progressive Dinners work well only if the members live a short distance from one another. If you have to drive from place to place, you will lose a lot of time traveling.
If helps if the members pre-make the dishes, so they can visit and chat with the other members.
Supper Club Benefits
With the Supper Club, only one member prepares the entire meal. The members also do not have to live near each other since they only meet at one home for the dinner.
But the next time the club meets, the previous host can sit back, relax and enjoy an awesome meal at a friend’s house.
A Special Thank You to C. for sharing her photographs and the details of her Supper Club!
