I actually love this time of year when the Sprouts fall display comes out. I adore fall and all types of pumpkins.
While out shopping for a few things, I saw this attractive outdoor fall display in front of the Sprouts Farmers Market.
What intrigues me the most about pumpkins is that every year, growers continue to produce new and amazing pumpkin types.
Today pumpkins and gourds come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. So gone is the day of the round orange pumpkin.
Photographs of Sprout’s Fall Display of Pumpkins, Firewood, and Gourds
Sprouts Farmers Market selects a variety of pumpkins, ornamental corn, gourds, scented pinecone bags, fire wood, and squash for their attractive outdoor display.
There are many times, I’ll stop in to get a package of their firewood.
The top box is full of ornamental corn.
Colorful ornamental corn is great to use in fall decorations or centerpieces.
Cinderella Pumpkins
The below photograph shows three stacks of Cinderella pumpkins. I love the shape and the name of these pumpkins.
Cinderella pumpkins are a very old French heirloom variety. They are known for their eye-catching bright orange or orange-red skin and their slightly squashed appearance.
Cinderella pumpkins are popular with French chefs since they make an excellent soup base. Perhaps I should try making a pumpkins soup base as that sounds good.
Cinderella pumpkins get their name because they resemble Cinderella’s coach.
Shula pumpkins are on the floor.
Tiger Pumpkins
The photograph on the right, shows a top shelf of mini Tiger Pumpkins which are sometimes called Dwarf Tiger Squash.
Tiger Pumpkins are known for their distinctive white and orange striping pattern.
For an easy side dish, stuff Tiger Pumpkins with a rice and mushroom filling and then oven roast them.
The below left photograph shows a collection of warty Minion pumpkins which are fascinating to look at.
Warty Minion Pumpkins came about after years of selective breeding.
These warty pumpkins are great for carving a pumpkin with a scary face.
After seeing all these pumpkins at Sprouts fall display, I keep thinking it is going to be time soon to buy a pumpkin. So I better sharpen up my pumpkin carving skills.
Scented Pinecones
Every crisp fall day needs a fire in the fireplace.
Scented Pinecones smell fresh and like cinnamon sticks.
Some people like to burn pinecones in their fireplaces or wood stoves.
Ending Notes on Sprouts Fall Display Blog
This store display really got me thinking about the cooler fall days ahead and decorating with fresh pumpkins.
Now if the weather would only cooperate.
A Big Thank You to Sprouts Farmers Market in Herndon for allowing me to take photographs of their outdoor sales display and to use them in today’s blog.
