Wow, what lovely spring weather we are having.
I look a short break outside in my backyard to get a little fresh air.
I noticed many hopeful signs of spring.
This first photograph is a picture of my Bradford Pear tree covered in delicate white blossoms.
Yellow and White DaffodilsThis photograph shows a bunch of daffodils near my front door.
The daffodils are perennial spring favorites which are part of the amaryllis family.
Plants with New GrowthThis photograph shows a red leaf plant with some new growth.
Also, note the persistent weed growing near by.
This a picture of some grape hyacinth plants (Musari) near a dogwood tree.
These were planted by the previous owner of my house and come up every year.
I think they are one of the few things squirrels will not eat.
Grape Hyacinths Standing on Wall with Rooster StatuesHere is a rare picture of me in my worn out tennis shoes standing on my garden wall.
I’m also wearing a ratty pair of country blue jeans.
OK, not really spring related with I like the juxtaposition of the wall and my shoes.
This is the bane of gardens, the dandelion weed.
Actually, the dandelion plant is a herb native to Europe is edible and useful.
Dandelion plants can be used for salad greens, wine, dandelion jelly or to pan fry with some bacon fat.
These are best harvested right now when the leaves are still tender.

Makes Needed Repairs to the Broken Fridge Drawer Knob.
Fridge Drawer RepairWith a little “can do” attitude this photograph shows me repairing a broken fridge drawer knob.
Since I’m home bound, there is no going to the hardware store to find something.
Instead, I’ve glued the old knob together with strong glue. I then braced it with a piece of wood, a wooden close-pin, and a pot holder to keep it in place until the glue cures in 24 hours.
Hopefully, that will hold it for a while.
