Snow Bunny Cake

Today’s blog is about a Snow Bunny Cake I noted on our trip to the local Paris Baguette shop for coffee. At that time, I also checked out their delicious looking cakes, pastries, and breads.

However, it is a little odd that I have two blogs centered on cakes in a row. But everyone loves cake, right? So, here we go with one more cake blog.

Snow Bunny Cake

When checking out Paris Baguette’s cake display, I noted this Snow Bunny Cake. The cake description reads a vanilla cake filled with soft cream and strawberries topped with shredded coconut. It also has 340 Calories per serving with a price of $45.09 per cake.

This cake reminds me of an artic animal in a snowstorm. The bunny ears are made from two strawberries. The bunny has two widely set eyes and an upturned paw.

New Strawberry Pistachio Fraisier Cake

Wow, there is also a new cake called a Strawberry Pistachio Fraisier Cake in the bakery. The cake’s icing is slightly green in color with a variety of strawberries pressed in and on the top of the cake.

Well, I checked online for more details about what is a Fraisier cake. Let’s see this is a traditional French dessert. The cake is made with two layers of sponge cake filled with vanilla-flavored pastry cream and garnished with fresh strawberries.

The name Fraisier comes from the French word meaning strawberries. These elegant cakes are made during the summer strawberry season.

If the cake is made with fresh raspberries, then it is called a Framboise.

It looks like a finely diced layer of pistachios are sprinkled over the top of the cake along with sliced strawberries and a mint leaf.

Loaves of Bread and the Snow Bunny Cake

As my Readers probably know, I love sourdough bread. These Sourdough bread loaves are priced about $8.

Sourdough bread makes great sandwiches and morning toast.

Sweet Potato in a Log Pastry Log

As always, I’m wondering what a Sweet Potato baguette tastes like. It is a little on the orange side, so I guess some mashed sweet potatoes went into making with the dough.

Right now, the Coffee Danish and the Sweet Potato Pastry are displayed side by side.

Ending Notes on Snow Bunny Cake

OK, the Snow Bunny Cake is very cute but since it not my birthday I’m going to have to pass on this one. I, also, think it would a great cake to serve for winter holidays.

All in all, I enjoyed blogging about the items which were new to me.

So, once again, a big thank you to Paris Baguette for allowing me to blog and to take photographs in their clean, modern shop.
