Today on Farmhouse Magic Blog, we have a guest blogger with a true story.
Here is her blog.
I grew up being scared of guns. Even as a child we had a gun in the house, (a .410 shotgun or a little kid’s shotgun), that stood in the corner of my mother’s bedroom. We never touched it and never once shot it.
My Dad said it was to protect us.
We always thought that if we tried to use it, the bad guy would grab it and use it on us.
So 40 years later when my husband asked me if I would like to learn to shoot a handgun, I was hesitant. I thought that nothing good comes from guns.
I reluctantly tried it. After learning proper firearm safety and taking a professional pistol class, I began to really like it.
Shooting a gun is exhilarating! It is power at your fingertips. It is not bad like I originally thought and like news media makes it out to be.
I now have one handgun, one hunting rifle, one AR-style rifle, and one shotgun, and I like to shoot them all.
If you’d like, I’ll tell you more next time.
