Sharpening Knives
I’ve been on a quest to get things done around the house that have been in the “delay” pile.
Growing up as a kid, we always had sharp knives in the house since my dad would keep them all razor sharp.
In my own household, knives are generally in a dull state.
I have good quality steak knives which were in need of a good sharpening.
So I got out my new 2-stage knife sharpener which I received as a gift.
Knives to be Sharpened along with Knife SharpenerMy new knife sharpener uses ceramic sharpening technology and has both coarse and fine slots.
You pull the knife through the coarse slot up to 20 times.
Then you pull the knife through the fine stage slot about 5 to 10 times.
Your knife, at this point, should be sharp enough to cut paper.
I’ve followed the directions. Now, I’m waiting to use those sharp knives for a meal.
Whetstone and Wooden Storage BoxI thought I would add a note about the type of knife sharpener my dad used. He used a whetstone. This is a photograph of a whetstone in a nice wooden storage box.
It does the same job, but I was never able to get the right angle to sharpened my knives.
I think the use of a whetstone takes a little more technique to get sharp knives.
