I was out driving around checking on the progress of the new Silver Line Metro Stations.

I noticed these signs posted as the Self-Driving Vehicle Zone.

I don’t think the cars are in operation yet due to delays from COVID-19.

The self-driving cars solve real problems of getting workers, shoppers, and others from one place to another.  This new technology will streamline commutes and ease traffic congestion in a certain looped area.

Presently the self-driving cars are in operation in New York City, Boston, and Fairfield, CA.

The area in Reston where the self-driving cars will operate is called Brookfield’s Halley Rise.

This is a $1.4 billon mixed development of luxury housing, upscale retail, office space, public green space and year round cultural activities.

The next two photograph are of the Silver Line Metro Stop in Herndon.  It is not quite open yet.

Looks almost ready to open doesn’t it?

So for now as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic is over with, the area will burst into activity with a new Metro Stop, self-driving cars, and nonstop activity.
