Scottish Dogs Note Pad Holder

I found my Scottish dogs note pad holder in the Good Will priced at $4.50.  To my eye, this piece is not antique but it is made of heavy cast iron.  It has a slightly brown color but is not rusty.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to use it for.  Because it is so heavy, one use would be as a door stopper.  I decided to add some note pads and a pen so I could keep it on the bookshelf near my landline telephone.

This has worked out fine.  What could be cuter than a set of matching Scottish dogs.
