OK, we had a few technical storage issues at FHMB, but I am thinking it is back to where we left off at a blog on a ReStore Holiday Shopping trip. I was there last week, so here is what’s new.
Vintage White Mountain Freezer Ice Cream Maker
The vintage White Mountain Freezer ice cream maker uses the patented triple-motion dasher system for making homemade ice cream. There were two additional sets of blades which scraped ice cream from the sides of the canister. This action whipped more air into the ice cream base and prevented large crystal from forming. It was a simple design but worked well. Made in the USA, patented, I believe, June 12, 1923. I think this piece was located near the front of the store and I’m not sure if all the parts are still there. Still, it is great conversation piece for those who love ice cream.

Mahogany Federal Style Table with Shell inlay
I really adore this next piece a vintage Baker Furniture Company – Mahogany Federal Style Table with Shell Inlay. It works in a lot of small places. It looks to be well made of Mahogany wood. This table is located near the front of the store and is priced at $200.

The shell inlay is interesting on this small table. Also, lots of vintage appeal.
Modern Style Small Table
This next table also fits into a lot of different areas. I’m thinking it looks like it would be great to use when you work or read in bed. However, you would have to measure it first to see if would fit under your bed.
The modern looking table has a wooden top and metal legs. It can also be pushed up near a wall to save space.

Brown Wooden Chair with Cane Seat
There are lots of seating options available for purchase in the ReStore today.
In particular, I liked this vintage looking wooden chair with a cane seat. The top of the chair has a design carved into the wood.

The caning of this chair is flexible, breathable, and looks classic.
I didn’t notice any holes in the caning but only looked at the chair from a distance.
What Did I Buy? – Christmas in Greenland Hanging Plate
For only two dollars I purchased a Christmas in Greenland Hanging Plate. I like the unique design of dogs pulling a sled in the snow with a bright star in the blue sky. it is made with a string on the back to hang it on a wall.
Not sure where I am going to hang it yet, but I’ve been doing some decorating and decluttering, so, hopefully, I’ll find a spot for it soon.

Horse and Wagon Toy or Decorative Piece
This is a very detailed horse and wagon toy or decorative piece. The halter on the horse is leather, and it carries six wooden barrels in the wagon. It is a nice piece if you are buying a gift for an equestrian. It looks similar to the Scottish pieces I have seen online.

Ending Notes on Holiday Shopping ReStore
As always, I’ve found lots of great interesting pieces that would make fabulous holiday gifts for that special someone. Be sure to check out at your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore for all your gifting needs. One note is to shop often in ReStore shops because things go in and sell quickly. I’ve also noticed wrapping paper, cards and gift tags for sale.
A Big Thank You to the Northern VA ReStore Shop located in the Reston/Herndon area for allowing me to blog and take photographs at your shop. All items on today’s blog are available for purchase but sorry I have already purchased the Christmas in Greenland plate.
