Our blog today is on ReStore and the high chair because this is my favorite vintage item for sale this week. In addition, an old doll dressed in a white gown sits in the high chair.
ReStore and the High Chair With a Doll
The vintage high chair is made out of wood with a clip-on light green tray.
On the front of the chair back is an oval-shaped picture of three children at the beach but the sand at the beach has a greenish color. One child holds a beach umbrella and two play in the green sand. In the background there is a large blue wave cresting.
I’m not sure if the chair and the doll both came in at the same time but the doll looks like someone’s special toy. The doll, also, seems heavy for her size.
The vintage high chair is useful to hold part of a doll collection, teddy bears, a plant, basket of kitchen towels, etc.
Outhouse Bathroom Tissue Holder
The next item I’m blogging about is this bathroom tissue holder in the shape of a mini-outhouse and looks like a craft fair offering.
This storage cabinet is made out of wood and has some wear to it. The door has small hinges and a white knob. It looks like you could store two or three rolls of toilet paper in it and a crescent moon is cut into the door.
This piece would be cute for a rustic cottage’s bathroom or for someone with a sense of old-time humor.
I’m not sure if the top is for a small box of tissues or for a roll of toilet paper.
Boat Hull with Storage Area
This, third item, is a wooden boat hull is painted with “Wonderful Indonesia”. It has two mini red life preservers, a mast, a brown anchor and with some netting.
This piece is a bit of mystery, but I personally think it was built for some type of advertising. It is too high for children to play on and the locking storage area looks small.
“Wonderful Indonesia”, the name on the boat’s hull, is, also, a campaign put out the the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia to promote travel in Indonesia.
So, the small locking storage area might have been used to store event tablecloths, pamphlets, etc. for a convention, etc.
So far, I’m only guessing to the use of the above boat hull. Right now it would make a great stage prop, or one-of-a-kind statement piece for a boat-loving family. The locking storage area is always useful.
Vintage Drop Leaf Table
The last item I’m blogging about is a vintage drop leaf table set. These tables are great because they fit into small areas and the sides open up for additional entertaining space.
Apparently this vintage drop leave table also comes with two Bent Brother’s well-made chairs.
S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.
So, a little history on S. Bent & Brothers chairs.
S. Bent & Brothers opened for business in 1867 and closed its doors in 2000. They were out of Gardner, MA and sold quality chairs and later dinning room tables. Their workers took pride in their work.
Ending Notes for ReStore and the High Chair Blog
I always enjoy browsing and shopping in my local ReStore because every week brings new donations, interesting pieces, and great sales.
Today might be a vintage high chair but tomorrow will be something new.
A Special Thank You to Paul of the ReStore for allowing me to take photographs and to blog about the items for sale.
