I’ve driven by the Reston Metro Station several times and have always noticed this enormous LED screen near the metro station.
I thought the screen looked quite interesting so we stopped today for a closer look and a photograph. Not sure what city is represented on the screen, however, it does not look like Reston. The LED screen plays a continual loop of videos. One video is of an underwater scene.
This Reston Station was made for multiple uses not only for metro riders.
Steps Up to the Silver Line Metro StationThis photograph shows the long staircase up to the main level of the metro area.
You can see the large screen in the one corner of the photograph.
There are also some restaurants on this level.
Buildings Near Silver Line MetroNearby are the BLVD Luxury Apartments. They offer such amenities as a roof top pool with fire pits, virtual cooking demonstrations, Yappy Hour for Pet owners, etc.
Before reaching the Reston Metro Station entrance there is, also, a pop up market called Urban Pop. The market offers anything from honey to homemade scarfs and hats. However, not sure if that is going on currently due to COVID-19 and I did not venture closer to the metro entrance.
Immediately across busy Sunset Hills Road is a nearby bicycle rental rack and a bike path.
Metro Building Marker Large Outdoor ScreenThis Reston area is a nice place to live and work. In particular, if you work downtown Washington, DC and want to rent, it’s super easy to get to work in the morning.
I wasn’t able to find too much more information on the gigantic LED screen but it reminds one of the large screens they have in NYC’s Times Square.
It’s always nice to visit the beautiful, modern, clean city of Reston.
