It has been awhile since we blogged about the local ReStore shop, so I’m ready to shop ReStore.
First of all, it a true joy to shop there since ReStore shop associates are always so nice, helpful and polite.
Vintage Crib
Today, the first item, I want to blog about is the light blue and yellow wooden crib.
A lady gave it to the shop said it was handmade by grandfather many decades ago. The age of the crib is approximately the early 1900’s but I’m not sure if it was built for a real baby or a child’s baby doll.
The paint is chipped here and there, but it was obviously well-built to stand the test of time.
Wooden Fireplace Mantel
In the back of the store, I saw this white wooden fireplace mantel.
I love it when people carefully take out their old mantels and donate them to the ReStore shop. That way they get a second useful life and don’t fill up our already full landfills.
The fireplace mantel is reasonably priced but please measure carefully to make sure it will fit your fireplace opening.
“Heavy Duty” Child’s art Easel/Backboard
This next item, I’m calling the child’s art easel and backboard “heavy duty” because it is well made and able to stand a lot of little hand use.
I wasn’t able to find anything online which looked similar.
There is an area over the easel to attach a roll of paper. The side has an area for either two paint containers or water.
The chalk board side has an indentation for holding the chalk so it will not roll off the ledge.
The dowel for the paper roll is missing but you can always get one at the craft store or local hardware store.
Tall Decorative Vase
Reston ReStore shop has a large assortment of framed art prints. I think this vase was a new shipment.
This large decorative vase is perfect for an ample arrangement of silk flowers or faux greenery.
The outside of the tall vase is very detailed.
It looks sort of like shells.
This tall vase was very unusual and also could be statement piece in one area of your home.
Rustic Bench Stool in Ready to Shop ReStore
The below photograph is a rustic-bench storage stool.
The rustic looking bench stool is made of wood painted a light brown. I am thinking it looks like a piece of folk art. The four legs on the bench chair are very short and there are no arms on the piece.
The seat is hinged with a storage area under the seat.
The storage area is about the size of two shoeboxes.
Oriental Folding 4-Door Panel Room Divider
The last photograph shows an oriental folding 4-door panel room divider. To my eyes, it looks like black lacquer ware.
Across the panels, a scene of women walk down steps and into a garden setting. There are several large trees planted around the area.
I believe this lovely decorative piece was priced at $400.
Ending Notes on Ready to Shop ReStore
All the above photographed items were for sale this week in the ReStore shop, Herndon/Reston location.
A Special Thank You goes out to Paul and the ReStore shop for allowing me to blog and take photographs of their “old, new, recycled, or blue” merchandise. In other words, you’ll never know what will come in their doors.
