Rainy Days, Flowers, and Spring Garden Chores

It was a rainy day but not to distress too much since it means water for the new flowers of spring.

The above photograph was taken in my yard and shows a great grouping of some purple grape hyacinth plants.

These are rather small only about 5 to 6 inches in height.

The photograph on the left, shows my wheelbarrow full of rain water.

It has rained most of the day.

We were lucky to get a good deal of yardwork done yesterday when the sun was out.

In the background notice my Bradford Pear tree.  It’s a lovely tree with a lot of branches to it.  So far my Bradford Pear is still looking in good shape.

I think it is protected from sharp limb breaking winds by the surrounding trees.

Spring Garden Chores

  • Clean up leaves, sticks, and other yard debris.
  • Mulch flower beds.
  • Plant early red lettuce seeds.
  • Remove and discard dead plants.
  • Sweep sidewalk.
