Purcellville Public Safety Center

Today Farmhouse Magic Blog was headed out for a drive to Purcellville, VA and noticed this large building.  This Public Safety Center is combination of a fire and rescue system.

Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company was formed in 1923 when two hand-drawn chemical wagons were placed into service.

The Purcellville Public Safety Center opened in 2009.  It consists of both the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company (Company 2) and the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue (Company 14).

Rescue Company 14 uses a total of three class A ambulances, an advanced life support (ALS) chase vehicle and a basic life support (BLS) chase vehicle.

The station, also, houses two Class A engines, a tower/ladder truck, a 3,000 gallon tanker, an attack Jeep for wildland incidents, and a special response vehicle (SERV).

If you love firetrucks, their website has detailed information about each vehicle.

They, also, have the ability to mitigate hazardous materials and perform swift water rescues.

From the quick view from the parking lot, every thing looks in immaculate shape.

The above photograph looks like some type of training roof.

The small red building in front of the training roof also looks to be some type of training place.

What I found to be especially nice is Purcellvilles Volunteer Fire Company has a special friendship with Santa Claus.  On December 18 and 19th, the company will arrange with Santa Claus to visit Percellville.  If you listen for the music and the sirens, you’ll see Santa Claus.  Unfortunately, this year, Santa Claus and his helpers will not be able to hand out candy canes due to COVID-19.

They also offer for sale a special Christmas tree ornament with the company’s building etched on the ornament.

A  big Farmhouse Magic Blog Thank You to all the Emergency Workers who bravely go into the unknown to help those in need.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
