It was one of those weekends where we didn’t have much to do and decided to check out the 3rd Annual Puerto Rican Festival held in Manasses, VA. The day was muggy, and the sky was gray, but we had a great time.
The Puerto Rican Festival was rich in Puerto Rican culture and heritage with live music, food, and lots of booths.
There was also free parking in the public parking garage which was only steps away from the festival.

Happenings at Today’s Event
We listened a bit to the musical entertainment which was lively. The stage was set up with Puerto Rican banners.
In checking things out, I enjoyed looking at the colorful collection of crocheted flowers at the Knit No. 1–Handmade booth. Let’s see, there sunflowers, roses, tulips and more. It looks like a lot of work went into making these unusual yarn flowers.

We, also, enjoyed the friendly ladies at the AARP booth. Standing in front of a frog background we had a free photograph taken and sent to our email address. We were actually their first booth visitor. They took our photograph twice to get things perfect. It turned out great plus there were lots of freebies. Thanks everyone.

I sat for a few minutes in the park gazebo located in the Harris Pavilion. Everyone seemed to be having a great time.
There were merchandise booths selling Puerto Rican t-shirts and hats. Plus, there were many food vendors there.
I liked the bright orange hibiscus flowers on the edge of this food booth. Many of the food booths served Puerto Rican dishes.

Ending Notes
We enjoyed our outing today and best of all, it was family friendly and free. Lots of booths to check out. We even picked up a guava filled pastry. My companion also met a gentleman who also served in the Signal Corp, Army. Guess what, that big rainstorm held off until we got home.

Adios Everyone!
