Yesterday I attended a free concert, and I noted some very neat looking portable camping chairs. Yes, to me it is more comfortable to sit on a portable camping chair instead of spreading out a blanket on the hard floor. Also, when space it at a premium, camping chairs generally take up less floor space and you won’t get accidently stepped on.
Let’s face it, it is super easy to toss a couple of portable camping chairs in the back or trunk of your vehicle and off you go. Portable camping chairs are not only seen at camp sites but at concerts, sporting events, family gatherings, etc.
When I’m out shopping for portable camping chairs I’m looking for something that folds easily, can be carried, and is stable and comfortable. Plus, a cupholder or two is a bonus feature. It is also nice if the fabric on the chair is breathable and quickly dries out if it gets accidently wet.
What’s New in Portable Camping Chairs?
After attending a recent event, I noted a few chairs worth mentioning.
So, this chair was right in front of me and I really liked the fact it is cushioned. Also, I like the blue color. I noted it came with a larger size carrying bag. The owner of the chair indeed reported it was comfortable to sit on.
Chair number two has an unusual back to it. This chair folds up into the carry case. This way you never lose the storage bag, and it is quick to pack up.
It was a little hard to get a photo of these two camping chairs in which the back becomes part of the storage bag. No need to fold the chairs up and stuff into a storage bag.
On this next photo, I’m not sure but I think these two chairs fold up into one portable package. It looks like there are small wheels on this one. So, I think you pull it along much like a suitcase.

In conclusion, today’s portable camping chairs come with various options. It is somewhat hard to pick out your favorite one.
I remember years ago, a lot of the portable chairs had web backing which wore out at some point. However, my uncle had a basic fold up chair he strapped to his truck camper. I always liked his camping chair since it has plastic arm rests and a canvas seat and back.
However, today, my main concerns are sitting on a comfortable chair which is stable. There is no way I want to end up on the floor. Of course, I’m also a little price conscious and I have no idea of what any of these chairs are priced at. So, we end today’s blog.
But oh, to summer nights, enjoying a free concert, stars overhead, with good music sitting on a comfortable chair.
