The following garden display brings to mind a Peter Rabbit Tea Party and so begins today’s blog.
Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed this indoor garden display because it is so detailed. For example, notice the plated (ornament) desserts on the glass garden table. There is a ring of bright green moss around the outer dish. Even the tea pot has a ring of moss around it in keeping with the rabbit in the garden theme. A butterfly sits on top of the tea pot’s lid.
The next photograph shows a closeup view of the strawberry shortcakes on a stacked serving dish. Each realistic looking piece is priced at $49.99 and is part of their holiday tree trimming section. In addition, there is a sign on the table that states the fine glass ornaments are made in Poland.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit
Since I mentioned Peter Rabbit, I think I will add a few words on the story.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a children’s book most of us have read. The book was written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. The story is about a mischievous young rabbit who is unable to resist the vegetables in Mr. McGregor’s garden. He gets into the forbidden garden and is chased about by Mr. McGregor. Peter eventually escapes but loses his blue jacket in the process. Peter returns home with stomachache. He is given chamomile tea and put to bed by this mother.
Initially, the book was published in the United Kingdom back in 1901. The first full color version was printed in 1902. All in all, the book is well loved has been reprinted many times over the years.
Ending Notes on the Peter Rabbit Tea Party
So, I would love to sit down and enjoy this pretend tea party. However, there is only one chair which is occupied by Mr. Rabbit. But that’s OK since the food and tea are not real.
Also, in ending today’s blog I also could be totally wrong here and this scene might be out of Alice in Wonderland with the white rabbit and the Mad Tea Party. On closer inspection, I see that the rabbit’s collar looks more like out of the Alice book. Also, there are some playing cards hanging from strings.
Oh well, on that one, let’s use our imaginations here and think of the scene with our favorite white rabbit.
Happy Tea Party to All!
