So, went out for coffee today and noticed this car with the writing “’24 Out the Door”. The car obviously belongs to a person who graduated this summer. Across the back window was the wording “Senior 2024”. Some the wording is a bit blurred and dusty. You can tell it has been on the car for awhile.
I guess the new graduation feeling is still out there but, of course, is less exciting. Also, the car needs to be taken in for a car wash. OK, it’s time to make some hard decisions and career choices. I’m thinking about this as I noticed a couple of maple leaves in my yard. How much time do we have until all the leaves are on the ground? Time is moving on and fall will soon be here.
What to Do Now?
Really, the graduation ceremony was the easy part. Now, the hard part, what to do with your life? How will you make a difference in the world. What will people remember you for? I think this car probably belongs to a high school senior because some of the college grads have probably landed jobs prior to graduation and they are done. In other words, “Out the Door.”
Of course, that’s not everyone. Some will go on and pick up advanced degrees. Others have already moved to new areas for employment. In fact, high school or college days are over or just beginning depending on your case.
Out the Door Ending Words
So, alas, I have no clever advice to offer this new grad. It is all part of growing up and moving on. Everyone does it.
Years ago, what changes did I made after graduation? Married first, graduated, made sure I got my retirement, left my home, town and friends, moved to another state, landed another better paying job, made new friends, and had a wonderful life.
To All those New graduates, Best of Luck and, also, have a Wonderful Life.
