Supply & Demand

No Computer Printers

This week’s blog is about no computer printers because I was initially unable to get a new one to replaced my broken printer. Purchasing a new printer is cheaper than repairing my broken printer. My new printer must have a scanner, as I use that option frequently.

So, this is my story, as I went to a variety of stores looking for a replacement printer with a scanner.

Ink, copy paper and printers should all be available in my area due to the many technical workers but I also saw an ink shortage.

Shopping, No Computer Printers

The first computer store had a few printers but basically the shelves were empty.

Surprisingly, the second and third general merchandise stores we visited, had some printers. But the printers did not have scanners or the printers were too big. I only have a small desk, and the area will not hold a large, bulky printer.

After talking to several sales people one told us to order the printer online. It was hard to believe that all the big stores we visited did not have a printer we could buy. With no other choice, we came home and ordered a new printer online.

My technical director even noticed some “reconditioned” (used) printers for sale online. These are probably going fast, too.

Ending Remarks

I’m hoping that our new printer/scanner comes in soon and works out OK but with no computer printers, it’s hard to say.

With general economic principals, no supply and high demand, means the cost of new printers is bound to go up.

We are all hoping that the printer supply chain works its self out so we can get more printers, along with other goods.

But for now, Farmhouse Magic Blog continues with or without that printer.

Happy Day!
