Modern Art Work #1
Occasionally, at Farmhouse Magic Blog we feature a new artist. Today’s blog features modern art pieces interesting to look at as well as being functional.
All pieces are made of balsam wood, ample wood glue, and old hockey sticks.
Oddly the artist believes in the temporary nature of the universe, so there are no nails or other means of fastening the pieces together.
I was told this first photograph is a modern microphone stand.
This is the top of the Modern Art Work #1, or the microphone stand.
The microphone stand has two holes drilled in the approximate center.
Modern Art Work #4
This second modern art piece #2, is a small stand or table.
It has a hockey stick prominently displayed holding the front of the stand together.
The bottom has an extra leg in the center for additional support.
Modern Art Work #2
This last piece is entitled Modern Art Work #3, and is a useful under the bed storage container.
The top boards have flowing, uneven edges to them.
I love the fact that all the pieces are made from natural balsam wood.

According to the artist, the finishing steps are to allow the pieces to breathe in the rainy weather and are left outside to endure the elements.
Additional Note to Readers
Not sure if Modern Art Pieces 1 through 3 are going to hold up after a good soaking but that’s modern art for you.
