I wanted to make my marshmallow treats look more like fall.
After the marshmallow treats were pressed in the pan, I quickly sprinkled them with some orange decorating sugar.
Lastly, I pressed pieces of candy corn into each slice.
Candy Corn Marshmallow TreatsIngredients
- 6 Cups of Crispy Rice Cereal, (I used the generic brand)
- 1/4 Cup of Butter
- 10 ounces of Marshmallows
- 1 Generous Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- Orange Decorating Sugar
- Bag of Candy Corn
Directions
- Prepare pan by lining it with nonstick aluminum foil and spray with non stick spray.
- Place marshmallows and butter in a 2 quart sauce pan and place on burner. Stir mixture until marshmallows and butter are melted. Be careful not to splash the mixture as it will be very hot at this point.
- Remove pan from heat and add vanilla extract, stir well.
- Immediately add rice cereal and stir until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Pour into prepared pan. Butter hands and work quickly to pat down mixture into the pan.
- Sprinkle orange decorating sugar over top then lightly push your candy corn in to the still warm mixture.
- When cool, cut into bar sized pieces.
I use nonstick foil to line the pan. That way, the whole pan pulls out easily with no cleanup needed.

Measured Rice Cereal Sprinkling Orange Decorating SugarWork quickly to sprinkle orange decorating sugar over the top, then press in the candy corn.
If you allow too much time to pass, the sugar and candy corn pieces will not stick.
This makes a great Halloween or Thanksgiving party treat.
