Yesterday, the weather was nice, so we decided to take a trip to have Lunch in Winchester. They have one particular fast food restaurant which we don’t have in our area. So away, we went.
After our lunch of burgers and tater tots, we decided to head downtown to see what the town was like.
Historic Area
After Lunch in Winchester, we noted they do have a nice historic area. The promenade walkway consisted of red bricks with little shops and lots of non-chain restaurants.
They had one street musician playing his guitar and singing songs while we were there.
This street musician entertained anyone who walked by.
Historic Buildings After Lunch in Winchester
The first old building I noted, was the Masonic Temple, Winchester Hiram Lodge no. 21 AF & AM. It is advertised as one the the oldest Blue Lodges west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It meets on the Second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
I liked the ornate entrance with the Mason’s logo and the old wooden double doors.
I was able to find online that blue is a significant color for Freemasons. They start their journey in a “Blue Lodge”. The Freemasons always have a lot of secret membership ways, so I’ll say no more.
We then walked by The First Presbyterian Church which is a mission-oriented church in Winchester, VA. The church has a long historic past and began in 1788. It, also housed the sick and wounded soldiers during the Civil War from 1861 to 1865.

Ending Notes on Lunch in Winchester
We enjoyed our fast food lunch and the walking tour of downtown Winchester. Everyone we met was nice. However, the community parking garage had one impatient commuter who was honking his horn.
Enjoyed all the historic aspects of the town and also noted a poster for the upcoming Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festive.
For Your Information: The above photograph was taken in downtown Winchester. I love the juxtaposition of the old brick building and the new cement.
Have a Happy Day Everyone!
