Over the weekend, we decided to have lunch at Rocky Gap resort in Maryland which has a casino, golf resort, and spa set in a wooded lake area. The resort’s web sites boasts of having hiking trails, biking, boating and fishing. Around the lake there are a number of chairs and fire pits. We were told by our dining companion that the lights around the patio are very pretty at night.
When pulling in, we noticed a sign stating there is a Rocky Gap beach. Sure enough, there is a sandy beach area near the lake.
Lunch Time
We met another person for lunch at Rocky Gap. That person pulled up almost the same time we did.
We went in to have lunch at an outdoor patio setting. The waitress was friendly and nice, and the patio area was relaxing to eat at.
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. I used a spicy mayo dressing one of my companions wasn’t using.
Walking Around the Resort
We briefly entered the casino to look around. We bet $5 at a quarter slot machine. The $5 disappeared pretty quickly as neither one of us were sure how to place our bets at the machine.
We then headed outside to enjoy the nice weather and the outdoor seating area near the lake.
Ending Notes on Lunch at Rocky Gap
It was a nice relaxing lunch and I enjoyed myself. It is about a two hour drive from where we live but it was a nice day to get out of town for awhile.
Unfortunately, we ran into traffic on the way back home. I guess everyone had the same idea about getting out of town for awhile.
We would definitely return for another meal there. It would be nice to take a hike around this lake and see what type of forest animals are in the woods.
