I’ve been trying to get out a little bit and see some of the remaining fall foliage.
We took a short hike around the one side of Lake Newport in Reston. There is a hiking trail that runs on the dam part of Lake Newport.
Lake Newport is a man-made lake consisting of 12-acres. It was built in 1981 and is surrounded by large lovely lake homes.
Sidewalk Message-Girls Run the WorldI noticed the message, “Girls Run the World,” chalked on the walking trail.
I’m wonder why they didn’t include and exclamation point? (!)
If you look closely at this photograph you will notice some people kayaking on the lake. It almost looked like they were part of group.
Lake NewportAfter crossing the berm of the dam, you come to the Lake House which is rented out for weddings and other events.
At one time, the Lake House was part of the Reston Welcome Center.
Lake Newport in RestonThere are benches around the lake were you can sit and enjoy the lovely water scenery.
Interesting, the white post with the life preserver stated “No Skating”. Too warm for that on this day.
It is always nice to explore Reston and enjoy the days of fall magic.
Pepp.,
