Today I was out shopping and decided to stop in the local ReStore shop and look around at their items.
Chainomatic Analytical Balance ScaleMy internet research indicates that this is probably the top of the line as far as chainomatic balance scales go. I believe it is nickel plated with glass panes on the front. Probably made in Jersey City, NJ around 1952.
This instrument was used to rapidly measure small weights. It would probably have been seen in chemistry labs.
This is one of the most expensive items I’ve been in a resell store being priced at $725.00 if this is the correct price tag. There is also a second price tag of $50. on the item. This piece is definitely worth more than $50. As far as the condition goes, it does have some scratch marks on the front of it.
Wooden Bella Child’s ChairI also came across this is an adorable wooden chair for a child.
It has the word “Bella” printed in black on the back slat. Bella means beautiful in Italian.
An appropriate chair for any little beautiful girl. I believe this was priced right at only $3.00.
On today’s visit, the ReStore shop had a large gallery of art work.
The art work is done in a variety of mediums and subject matter.
Pretty much all sizes were available. There was also a wide price range from very cheap to expensive.
When buying a print, make sure it does not show signs of fading.
Another tip is to check out the frame. If the piece was professional framed, the print is generally of better quality.
Gallery of Art Work Bucket of Balls Assortment of Coffee TablesThe above photograph on the left shows a bucket of balls. I think they were priced at .50 cents each.
The second photograph on the right, shows several coffee tables being stored on large shelves.
Most people can probably find something they like and the proceeds go to the non-profit Habitat for Humanity organization.
