Jr. College Visit

Yesterday I visited the local junior college.

This college gives out a two year college degree and has become more popular due to the rising prices at regular four year institutions.

It is actually a very nice campus with a lot of things going on.

I liked this metal winged sculpture.  It reminds one of the wings of a bird.  It makes one think of soaring to great heights.  Right kind of inspiration for a junior college.

The school offers what is known a dual enrollment.  If you are a high school senior, you can get both high school and college credit and never have to go back to high school again.  You are still eligible to graduate with your class.

Well it worked that way for one particular student I know.  It is all very detailed and you need to make sure you have signed up for the right classes, etc.

Parents pay all costs involved but dual enrollment is a great option.

This red metal art work was in front of the one of the buildings we went into.

Right now, there is a lot of construction going on.

We found out that some offices were being moved to trailers to make way for the construction teams.

There is also free parking for a short time.

The first above photograph shows a stone ditch with student buildings in the background.

The second photograph show what looks like to be a man made pond overlooking a parking lot.

We actually talked to an older student who said that he has been in the area for years.  This campus was once an open field and farm land.

Things have really changed.

You Can Never be Too Smart . . .
