Is it spring yet?

I’m beginning to see subtle signs of spring even though it is still January.

I visited my local garden center this weekend.

These white amaryllis bulbs are ready to burst into blooms.

Grouping of Cacti Grouping of Cacti

This grouping of cacti is doing a great job weathering the winter temperatures while being safe and warm in the greenhouse.

Notice the interesting looking cacti plants in the background.  Each plant looks like two rocks being pressed together.

The first above photograph shows a grouping of plants and the second one is of several daffodil flowers.  Daffodils are usually one of the first flowers that come up in the spring.

The daffodil is a sign of hope for the coming of warmer days.

At home when I look outside my front door, my daffodils are beginning to pop through the ground and are about an inch tall.

Small Purple Orchids on a Table Small Purple Orchids on a Table

This is a grouping of showy small purple orchids on a garden table.

I like the white trimmed purple orchid flowers.

Large White Orchid Large White Orchid

This large white orchid consists of several picture perfect flowers.

I liked the way the garden center flipped over a large crock and added a circular glass top to make a modern garden table.

The orchid’s delicate stems are supported by using bamboo stakes.

A visit to the greenhouse makes the gardener in my soul emerge and I want to dig in the dirt.

Hurry up spring!
