Truth be told, there is something special about attending an ice cream social on a hot August afternoon.
Ice Cream Socials are a rather old fashion event where people got together for some socializing and, of course, cool ice cream. Everyone talked to their friends and neighbors about what was going on in their lives, about the farm harvest, their sewing bees or quilting projects, canning the garden produce, etc.
Well, today not so much about discussing the farm’s harvest, but you get my point.
We were invited to this happening and, believe me, I was looking forward to it. When we walked in, I noted the cheery decorations and the blown-up balloon type ice cream cones. The pool table was covered neatly with silver paper, napkins, and paper plates.

There was a selection of fruit flavored icy bars or ice cream cones and sandwiches. I selected an ice cream sandwich; it has been a while since I ate one.
For those not liking ice cream, there were also mini cup cakes and cookies to select from.

Ending Notes of Ice Cream Social
We took the time to come to this event, and it was quite enjoyable. We met with other people and found we have a common interest in the community.
It, also, one way to show people that you care about them.
Of course, who doesn’t love a cold treat on a hot day?
Thank you for everyone who put together this lovely afternoon of ice cream and meeting new people.
