While in downtown Arlington over the weekend, there is a small garden with a sign stating it is a Hope Garden.
I strolled through the green area to have a closer look.
Actually, the garden is part of an Adopt A Park program. Looks like the garden was planted by the Moms Demand Action organization.
Hope Garden
The well-maintained garden was carved out of a bigger park. It has a bird bath plus benches so one can sit and enjoy the garden. Right now the garden is in bloom with many yellow, white, purple and orange flowers.
The flowering plants are obviously well taken care of and I didn’t see a single weed. It even has a large black tank holding water for the flowering plants and to refill the bird bath. A hose is hooked up to the system for this reason.
Hope Rocks
Lining the path into the garden are colorful rocks with rainbows, the earth, or hearts painted on them. Many of the rocks also contain a message of hope for the reader.
In fact, one rock said to leave your own rock painted with an inspirational message for all to read.
Moms Demand Action
I looked at the website to learn more about the Moms Demand Action group and it deals with stopping gun violence.
It told stories of people who tragically died in gun violence.
Ending Notes on the Hope Garden
The Hope Garden is one way to keep the memories of their love ones alive and to make people think about what is important in life.
Sometimes it is not possible to avoid gun violence but this group of moms have high hopes and dreams for everyone to live in a safer place.
A Special Thank You to everyone involved with the Hope Garden in downtown Arlington.
