Today I was checking out the homes on Holly’s Christmas Lights list. Actually, the official name is Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights.
However, I feel, the homes on this list and their holiday decorations, are anything but tacky. Sorry Holly. I think Holly’s uses the word “tacky” as a fun way of looking at holiday lights.
So, I noted a nearby house on the list and went to check things out. This is the first time I’ve visited this home but have previously visited Holly’s listings.
Obviously, the homeowners on today’s blog spent a lot of money, time and dedication decking out their home and yard for the holidays.
Handcrafted Wooden Decorations
After ringing the doorbell, a friendly homeowner and her dog, came to the door. She was wrapping presents and stated their family got started with Christmas decorations during the COVID pandemic era. Her handy husband cut out and crafted all the wooden figures and she painted them.
I was a little curious about how they are made. So, I checked out the back side, it looks like they are secured to the ground with brackets and PVC piping.
Glowing & Glittering Light Show
The entire yard is light up with strings of lights. Snowflakes and icicles run the distance of the front porch.
The trees in the yard hold old vintage-looking red and white lights. There are even sparkling lights over the grass.
The trees are wrapped with vintage-looking bulbs.
Colorful lights and large snowflakes hang from the porch.
Ending Notes on Holly’s “Tacky” Christmas Lights
Actually, this homeowner said she was previously on Holly’s list.
I, also, love the fact that this family made good use of their time during a dark period in our COVID history and ended up delighting people with their colorful crafty holiday décor.
Guess who else also got their start with the COVID pandemic? That’s right, good old Farmhouse Magic Blog.com.
A Special Thank You to the nice Owner of this home for allowing me to blog and take today’s photographs.
Happy Holidays!
