I’ve gotten into the holiday spirit.
The holiday tree was taken out of the basement and I’ve have started the process of “decking the halls” in my home.
I made a short list of some of the international ornaments which were placed on my tree.
International Tree Ornaments
GERMANY – This year, I’m adding the vintage looking red mini apples from Germany. I found them in a junk store last year with a price tag of only $2.00 a box.
I have two boxes or exactly one dozen of these special apples to add to my tree.
Imported Mini Red Apples from German Dark Blue Christmas Tree Bulb Purchased in CanadaCANADA – These bulbs were purchased second hand for only .25 cents a box for four bulbs.
One box had a price tag on it from a Shoppers Drug Mart. There are over 1300 Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Canada. Their mission is to offer personal service to their customers.
However, I’m not sure if the bulbs are actually true to the box or if someone used that box to store them in.
NORWAY & ESTONIA – This unusual Christmas bulb is in the shape of Mary of the Sacred Heart and is made by Shishi with headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia.
Shishi was established in 1998 and is known for their interior decorative pieces made with fresh and interesting ideas.
Some of the items they make are pottery, vases, candles and seasonal decorations.
My summer tent sale price for this ornament was $3 dollars.
Mary of the Sacred Heart Ornament Plastic Hanging IciclesUNITED STATES – No one will ever know that my plastic silver hanging icicles came from a dollar store.
Looks like I am off to a great start in decorating my house and it isn’t even December yet.
ROMANIA – These three glass bell ornaments were also purchased in a second hand store for $1.50.
They were made in Romania for sale in Dollar Trees stores.
Do you think I overpaid by 50 cents?

Christmas Tree DecoratingAt this point, my Christmas tree is nearly decorated. I use a pre-lite tree so I no longer have to spend time finding the perfect location for each string of lights.
The bulbs on my tree are copper, silver and gold colored. I also have some clear and vintage looking silver bulbs.
I then add the silver and clear icicles which hang down. These balance out the long silver tree topper.
My tree topper is a vintage-looking glass silver spike which I wire onto the tree just to make sure it doesn’t accidentally fall off.
Near the top, I’ve added three large silver bows with the ends cascading down.
What a nice start to the holiday season.
