This Sunday, April 23rd, the 13th Annual Heroes verses Villains Run for Justice was held at Fairfax Corner. Unfortunately, I missed the event. However, when I stopped for coffee, I noticed a couple from the race still wearing their costumes. I chatted briefly with Genny and Jon on the sidewalk.
Genny was dressed as Wonder Woman, one of my favorite superheroes. Jon was Duff, who could be a villain or hero depending on your opinion.
She had on a Wonder Woman top and bright blue sunglasses. He wore a utility belt with of cans of Duff. I also liked his red cape and hat.
The couple learned about the event from friends and decided to enter. The race featured a Chrono Track System, prizes for the best costumes and a post-run buffet lunch.
After talking with the couple, I strolled over to the center plaza. I noticed that a DJ had just finished up his last song and a photo booth was being dismantled. Apparently, the 5K run was over although a few kids and parents lingered in the area.
Information on the Heroes Verses Villains Event
This 5K run is a fun charity event which helps raise money for the community for pro bono legal programs. Since its inception, it has raised over $150,000.
So, a big thank you to all those who participated in the event to raise money for legal fees and to Fairfax Law Foundation.
Also, a Big Thank You to Genny and Jon for allowing me to photograph them for today’s blog.
